Discussion: Tipping movers—what’s fair?

Reply:

Tipping movers isn’t something you think about until you're standing there with a full truck and a crew of hardworking people. I found a really helpful guide if you're wondering is $100 a good tip for movers or not. It suggests tipping based on whether you’re paying hourly or a flat rate, and gives clear ranges for per-person and per-hour tips. That makes it easy to figure out a fair starting point. From what I’ve seen, $4–$6 per mover per hour or around 10–20% of the total move cost is standard. You can adjust for tricky moves, long waits, or if they're super efficient. It made budgeting easy, and the movers genuinely seemed appreciative when I followed the advice. Definitely worth a quick read before the big day!
